I am on a diet (well more of a “lifestyle change” than a diet) and I have been drinking a lot of diet soda… I’m a real sugar addict so things like Coke Zero and so on seemed great. However now I want to start being a bit more healthly, but I drink diet soda with everything. Crystal light still has calories in it and I don’t like the taset what are some other alternatives?
Be careful of diet drinks. They count calories differently. A normal serving is 8 ounces or 250ml. A diet drink can have up to 2 calories per 3.4 ounces or 100ml to qualify as 0 calories. A serving of diet drinks normally still has 5 calories.
If you want an actual 0 calorie drink there really is none except water. All of the drink makers use the same standard to lie to us and tell us there are no calories in their drinks when in fact there are. Even unsweetened tea and coffee will still have some calories though they can qualify as none by the same standards as diet drinks are.

If you like things that taste sweet, try something like Hint Water (http://www.drinkhint.com/) or another flavored water… I know it sounds really gross, but from what I’ve heard, Hint Water tastes good…. and it’s 0 calories. Also, Costco sells this Kirkland Vitamin Water in the US, which has tons of vitamins in it, and tastes pretty nice too (http://www.costcoconnection.com/connection/200708/?pg=58). You could also try drinking some tea sweetened with Splenda…. tea has no calories, and neither does Splenda. It’s great that you’re trying to cut out diet soda from your diet, becuase studies have shown that people drinking it are more likely to gain weight than lose it! (http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20050613/drink-more-diet-soda-gain-more-weight) Hope this helps

First of all, the diet soda you are drinking has no health benefits at all…so thats not helping your “lifestyle change” in the slightest. Diet Sodas are full of sugar substitutes that are actually horrible for your body.
The amount of calories in crystal light is so insignificant it probably wouldn’t affect anything. In the crystal light singles theres only about 5-10 calories in each packet. When I drink Crystal Light i only use about half of the sinlge packet so it isnt as strong. There are alot of flavours of crystal light to choose from now as well.
I would suggest drinking alot of Green Tea. It’s really good for you and has lots of health benefits….just look it up on google. Sometimes I sweeten it with a tiny bit of honey.
But really, you should be drinking about 8 glasses of water everyday.
Everytime I feel like drinking something else I have a glass of water and the craving disappears.
Hope that helps!

fruit flavored seltzer tastes good and has no calories, also no canser causing art. sweeteners. sugar only has 16 cal per tsp, if you dont drink 87 tsps a day it shouldent be a worry, i like a little fruit juice in water for flavor it has almost no cals. my mother is convinced that the carbonation in diet soda (non diet too) is what gives you diabieties but i dont know her sources(she is usually well researched) be careful your “healthy” lifestyle change dont kill U.
