like when your on a low carb diet, what are you suppose to eat? certain meats, what breads are lower carbs, etc….? also should you eat lots of fruits and vegtables when trying to lose body fat?

Hi kks,

In general, you should avoid the “starchy” or “white foods” that are staples in many diets. These include breads, rice, and potatoes. Most meats are fine, but some would argue that meats too high in fat and cholesterol should be avoided. I think most low carb diets include some allowance for vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, okra, pumpkin, and zucchini. There are also many low carb diets that allow you to eat a fair amount of cheese.

Hope this helps!

I'm definitely not anti-carb, I would just like to cut back a little bit. I try to get most of my carbohydrates from veggies and fruits, but I just can't do without my pear and almond butter/tuna and hummus sandwiches! And lower carb options?

Eziekel bread. They have 15g per slice and they keep our insulin down too.

I really want to find a low carb whole wheat recipe that DOES NOT use a bread machine.

no. why would anyone make bread without a machine?

This is a list of *healthy* Low Carb bread alternatives. I also share with you my very favorite comfort food that has replaced bread and sandwiches.

I love bread like most people but I have found that grains feed candida yeast. Slow cooking bone broths contain gelatin which heals and strengthen the gut wall. Gelatin also helps with the digestion of food in the gut because it is a “hydrophilic colloid” which means it attracts and holds liquids. http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/broth.html

“Low Carb Breads” are franken foods and should not be consumed. When man decides to mess with food we get something that is nutritionally void and harmful. An example of this is white flour. It is so void of nutrients that the manufactures have to ADD vitamins back into it.

Stick with REAL FOOD for optimal health.

To your health and wellness,

Catherine
