If you look at the response videos of the last Boot Camp, you will find a number of highly motivated recruits. I have sent the Getting Started packet to all of them, and as long as they complete it by Monday. They are in the camp. There are already a few replacements waiting in the wings in case a couple fall through, so three weeks from now we should have bunch of inaugural boot camp graduates.

Number one rule of Boot Camp – “what happens in boot camp stays in Boot Camp,” so this may be the last video I produce for three weeks. My support to other non-boot camp members may also be limited in the next three weeks as well.

My freind and I were talking today and I told her that I really dont like meat all that much, I made the joke that if I could do a "reverse adkins diet" I would love it, she said she had heard that if you cut the meat out of your diet you could lose weight. Is that true?

I know people hate to hear it, but if you eat right and exercise, you'll lose weight. It's the only real way it's going to work, so just skip all the other.

By eating right, I don't mean cut out everything that's remotely "bad" and hope it works out. Just try to limit the bad, but don't be afraid to eat it every once in a while. Moderation is the key. It's really not that hard.

In my opinion, no. Carbohydrates, as a group, can and should be a part of a healthy, balanced diet. The question is, what KIND of carbohydrates. Eat a balanced diet with ALL of the food groups in their proper proportions and you will feel and be healthy. Whole grain carbohydrates like 12 grain bread, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, etc. Read labels and always go for products made with whole grains.

In addition, most people I know who have gone on the Atkins diet have lost weight, but since it is very difficult to eat a no or low carb diet for your entire life, as soon as they “go off” the diet, they gain the weight back, more quickly than they lost it.

IT is better to change the way you eat forever. When you’re trying to lose weight, of course your calories are more restricted, but even when you are just maintaining, you need to eat the proper foods and avoid transfats and fried food and low fiber breads, etc.
