when i started dieting i was doing the adkins to like detox which i lost a lot of weight doing thios, but then i started counting colories which ive been doing for like 4 months. but since i got better results with the adkins i wanna go back on it but whenever i do i get tightness in my chest and get scared and stop is this normal? because it didnt happen before at the beginning
You mean Atkins. No the Atkins diet is not a healthy diet, tho the tightness in your chest could just be gas from eating all that protein. Going into ketosis is not healthy for you but a more moderate low carb diet is a good way to loose body fat. Actually just eating the right carbs is all that really matters. Try just eating normally(not counting calories) and don't eat anything that wouldn't have been available to a cave man. Definitely don't consume any msg, high fructose corn syrup, or trans fat. Also try to stay clear of bread(unless it's flowerless), cereal, and fruit juice. Look up the glycemic index and eat carbs that have a low GI or low GL.
By the way, people do loose weight on the Atkins diet, which is why it's a fairly popular diet. What the Atkins followers don't realize is that they're getting caught up in their scales; the weight they loose turns out to be mostly water and lean mass which actually primes you to gain fat in the future. It's bad news.

Atkins, not Adkins.
Yes, your reaction is normal, that's why doctors don't recommend a no-carb diet. You're missing the sugar that you're used to, and that's not something to quit cold turkey.

No it's not.
It can cause heart failure. Your body needs carbs to survive.
Everything in moderation and all of that..

I'm three weeks into an Atkins diet, and have lost 17 lbs. I think its good for you as long as you eat lots of vege's.

idk adkins works and you get good results
but if you are reacting to it that way then maybe your body needs what you are taking away from it
so i guess try it again and if you start to feel that way then stop
or try a similar diet but switch up what your taking out of your diet
