I receive so many comments on this topic that I thought I better dedicate a video to it. The question usually goes as follows, “I lost a lot of weight in week 1 or in the first 14 days, but I haven’t lost in a week. What am I doing wrong?”
I invariably point them to google the terms “Post Induction Stall Syndrome.” This is the knack of the human body to readjust its water retention after a period of weight loss. The fat loss is STILL happening, but the readjustment of hydration levels after the burning of the glycogen masks it for awhile. The short answer is the dieter is still on the right path, and not to freak out and actually create a problem.
If this is happening to you, rest ured you are normal, and keep on keeping on.

To be up front, I …
To be up front, I weighed myself daily, and I liked the daily reminder on how far I’ve come. My weight bounced around some days like a pogo stick, but I kept reminding myself about the downward trend and checked myself if I done anything different.
However, I fully realize that negative scale results (gain weight temporary) can detrack people. Use the scale results as milestones to show how far you’ve come not as a determinant of your worth or happiness.

I’ve lossed 46 …
I’ve lossed 46 pounds since September 25, 2008.
For the last month, I have been gaining, losing and gaining 1 to 2 pounds, pretty much going nowhere.
I have another 100 or so pounds to go, is my body still re-adjusting?

High Sodium is a ” …
High Sodium is a “Your Mileage May Vary” thing. It is not a hard and fast thing. As for salad dressing, just simply pick one 2g per TBS or under. There are lots in that range.
Watch my how much weight will I lose video where I deal with this question. My scale would not go down linearly, it would bounce all over but overall for a week it would be downward.

Not really… that …
Not really… that is the purpose of the dairy rung to figure out how much you can eat per day and still continue to lose weight. There is very little lactose in a tablespoon, and I certainly have used my fairshare in quiches where I might have up to a quarter cup of cream in my serving of quiche.
If you are still losing, there is nothing anyone can say. You are living your own journey.

Hi, I love your …
Hi, I love your videos. Keep them coming. Just wondering….after the Induction period, is there a limit to how much cream you may have in any one day (I am talking double cream – virtually no carbs). I take 50g per day and use it in tea and on strawberries. I would greatly appreciate your response.

I highly recommend …
I highly recommend that you get rid of the diet coke, candy, and coffee. Drink ONLY water, and lots of it. I didn’t have success until I got rid of the diet coke. I was told that the sweetness of the taste “tricks” your body into having the same reaction as if you ate sugar.
As for the constipation, I also *highly* recommend Konsyl. It is a psyllium husk fiber supplement that you take with a glass of water. Take it twice a day (morning and night) and your bowels should be just fine.

This diet will …
This diet will allow you to drink, but you need to wait past the Induction phase, which is at least 14 days. At that point, you can low carb spirits and liquor into the diet, but mind you, you will not be burning any fat while you are drinking and sometimes judgement over food choices is impaired.
It is rung 5 of OWL phase, so it’s definitely allowed at the right time.

Have you been …
Have you been measuring? Are you not losing inches either?
Without knowing the rest of your menu, my first target would be the sugar alcohols in the SF chocolate. Make sure you are eating the 3 cups of veggies, and consider flax meal in like salads.
Are you drinking the water (64+ oz) per day in addition to the coffee, soda, etc.? Just looking at why the stall may be happening. Watch my why am I not losing video, where I deal with this topic more fully too.

Cheese is major …
Cheese is major staller for some people. Lactose in the cheese has a way of prevent weight loss in excess of just its carbohydrate level. I am not sure if it is because many are slightly lactose intolerant or if there is another reason. More dairy is typically a rung 3 or 4 item, but you can certainly choose to bump it up. I would however definitely wait until after the first 14 days before I began experimenting.

Yep, completely …
Yep, completely normal. Just keep eating right, and your body will continue to burn fat. 16 fluid oz (or one big glass of water) of water will cause that one pound rise, so it’s nothing to worry about.

Trust me after the day I and Laura (wife) had cleaning their rumps from soiling themselves (TMI I know), I wouldn’t eat them for awhile. I am sure pigs and cows aren’t much cleaner, but at least I am not bathing them. A couple hours cleaning two rabbit rumps has to burn a few Calories, right?
