If you look at the response videos of the last Boot Camp, you will find a number of highly motivated recruits. I have sent the Getting Started packet to all of them, and as long as they complete it by Monday. They are in the camp. There are already a few replacements waiting in the wings in case a couple fall through, so three weeks from now we should have bunch of inaugural boot camp graduates.

Number one rule of Boot Camp – “what happens in boot camp stays in Boot Camp,” so this may be the last video I produce for three weeks. My support to other non-boot camp members may also be limited in the next three weeks as well.

    The diet by itself …
The diet by itself should help with HDL Your tri’s are pretty high for low carb. Normally tri-s on a ketogenic go into the double digits, but that as it is. Flax meal is another great meal adjusting your HDL upwards.

Hi Ken, hope all is well… I am on a low carb diet and losing weight from 475lbs to 375lbs and just had my blood work done… my Total Chol = 174, triglis = 147, HDL = 29… first two are great but how can I bring up my HDL levels besides excercise is there low carb food I can eat or other foods or supplements that I can use without effecting my low carb diet??? thank you

Check out my why am I not losing video for the staller foods.

Now as to the why, the above video also answers that question, but the answer in my opinion is food sensativity. Some people are more sensitive to certain types of proteins and carbohydrates (like lactose) than others.

This is more a follow the rules — e.g. limit of cheese to 3-4 oz per day, and then if you are having issues, start following the suggestions in the video.

hi kent :D mmm i just got a question (love your videos btw) I read in one of the comments ypu made on a video that cheese is often a staller for most people starting with the atkins….. in which way? why? I am in my 6th day of induction and I want to do everything as right as posible, so I will be more than thankful if you could give a list or smtg of usual “staller foods” or something……. thanks on advantage for your time and support

    Thanks for the info …
Thanks for the info – Bowulf, I know I can do it, it’s just focusing and getting my self 100% back to it mentally. I find when I exercise on protein I am having nausea issues, vs exercising with carbs, however I have been trying to exercise early on empty stomach and then having nuts, and that seems to work better, also protein shakes are good. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, I am determined to get this off. I have lost about 115, and still have another 80+ to go.

I know the recruits appreciate the support. The first week went really well.

    Thanks, and you …
Thanks, and you might want to join atkinsdietbulletinboard (.) com. They may have a boot camp in the near future, which would work well for the non-video people. I can’t guarantee anything there as there are no definite plans, but there is talk about starting another one. Boot camp definitely does hold you to a stict clean diet and should help set you up for future success.

    What a great …
What a great concept. Glad you are doing this and really wish I had learned about it sooner. I need someone to hold my feet to the fire. I did Atkins successfully in 2007, but have had trouble staying as strongly committed to it as I was in the past. I am not sure why, but plan on following along with you all to give it another go. I don’t have a video abilities or I would of submitted one. I do track what I am eating through dailyplate, and exercise almost daily. I just need a clean diet.

    Could it possible …
Could it possible be something you add into your diet even when staying at the 20g. There are a number of foods – cheese, eggs, other dairy products, nuts, which may be fine even in Induction phase, but not fine for some Atkineers. Cheese is a huge staller of indviduals. Once you get on the “fat fast” add the foods back gradually. You might also try to vary your carbs vs. higher fat foods alternating, i.e. one week add limited vegetables 30g, the next week stay at 10-15g.

    I have a question …
I have a question about resistance. I am diabetic and live an atkins/low carb lifestyle faithfully. I exercise daily and do not “cheat” on my diet. However, I do not lose weight unless I do the “fat fast” which is fine, but gets really old really fast and I can do it for a while but then once I go off, it is difficult to want to go back on it. I do lose weight like that.. but its like pulling teeth. Have you found any other solutions to those who are resistant?? I am hoping you have a yes!
