I've been hearing all the good things colon cleanse can do for you body ( getting rid of all the toxins and stuff). I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for the right colon cleanse to use. Maybe from personal experience or you might know of someone who has use it. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

I've been happy with using bowtrol… To be honest it's the only one I've ever tried, but I see no reason to try anything else.

Read my story with it here

i dont want to eat meat anymore or strachy foods. are there any websites that would provide me with meal plans or anyone have suggestions? thanks

Perhaps you might want to investigate the Atkins diet which is a high animal protein diet. Starchy carbohydrates (bread, cereals, pasta, rice and nuts) are not permitted but non-starchy carbohydrates (most fruit and most vegetables) are permitted.

You can get a whole book on the Atkins diet with schedules and plans from Health Stores.

I see a lot of overwieght people drinking diet soft drinks etc but no one seems to be getting thinner…. any ideas?

People think if they drink diet then they can get load up on extra stuff. Just because your drink is zero calories the super sized fries probably added an additional 500 calories your meal.

Weight loss is all about comsumption vs energy expended.

I come to London in 15 days and I want to buy this kind of products because we don't find them in Paris. So, do you have some good address to let me, please ? Thanks a lot !

Why not just cook a meal yourself ffs?

For a healthy diet, you need to be eating small to medium meals regularly. 4 or even 5 times a day. Each meal (apart from breakfast which should preferably be fibre rich), should contain a balanced ammount of carbohydrates for energy, (from potatoes, rice and pasta, etc) protien (from fish, chicken, occassional red meat is fine, soya is good too) and plenty of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (simple fresh fruit and veg). Eat like this and make sure you are well hydrated (fruit juice is as good as water, any fluid counts, but some fluids have negative effects too, such as alcohol or caffiene rich drinks.)

Now for the science bit: Protien is essential for repairing muscle and keeping the muscle you do have healthy (this includes your heart, lungs, brain etc). You naturally lose the ammount of protien you have throughout the day (through urine etc) so this needs to be replenished regularly on a daily basis.

Carbohydrates are essential for energy. You won't be able to function without it. It also regulates body fat and glucose etc.

Vitamins and minerals are obviously essential for a variety of reasons. For normal growth and development, for the healthy maintenance of the cells, tissues, and organs that make up our bodies, and also to let us efficiently use chemical energy provided by food.

You can have a wide range of healthy meals with this, from Thai, Chinese, Italian, British, Indian, etc. Just make sure each meal contains balanced ammounts of these three. On the bright side too, fresh veg and rice and pasta is a lot cheaper than crappy junk food!

This doesn't mean you cant have chocolate or pizza/takeaway/etc, just save them as very occassional treats.

My teacher told us to look into it because we will be doing an activity related to this next week. Thank you!

Each of them 3 diets are different. Each one of them have different effects on different people.. it dont matter how many calories u eat in a day, its as long as u dont get alot of carbs and too much of the bad fats that cause weight gain. for you height, weight, age and activity level there are different amounts of carbs, protein, fat and calories you should eat.. so really each of those diets depends on who the person is.

Ok I currently weight around 199lbs and I'd like to lose weight,I go to curves three days a week and I eat healthy. But I'm not losing any weight! Am I doing something wrong?

If you want to lose weight, you need to two things: eat less and exercise more. Weight gain happens when you create a calorie surplus (eat more than you burn). Your body takes the excess calories and converts them to fat which get stored around your stomach, arms and thighs. The longer you remain in a calorie surplus, the more weight you'll gain. To lose that weight, you need to do the opposite. You need to create a calorie deficit (start eating less than you burn).

Your first step is to figure out how many calories you burn on a daily basis. Use a calorie calculator – http://calorieneedscalculator.com The number you get from this tool is what your body burns on a daily basis. To lose weight, simply eat less. It sounds a lot easier than it is but making small changes helps you adjust to a new lifestyle. Don't think of this as a diet, think of it as a new life. Instead of eating foods high in sugars, white flour and saturated fat, go with fruits, vegetables, whole wheats, fish, lean meats, nuts and beans. In addition to eating less, you also need to exercise more. Start off at 1-2 times per week and work your way up to 3-5 times per week.

Don't make all of these changes at once or you won't be able to properly adjust to them. Generally, eating healthier foods will decrease your calorie intake. Compare a doughnut to an apple and you'll see that healthy foods are lower in calories. You can find some more information at the Beginner's Guide to Dieting – http://straightdiet.com

When I was about 12 years old or so [a few years ago], my doctor suggested weightloss. He reccomended that I tried the South Beach diet [you know, the one where you cut carbs out completely!] Why would he do this rather than educate me on healthy lifestyle changes?

Actually, from what I've read of the south beach diet, it doesn't suggest cutting carbs totally. It cuts out bad carbs and foods with a high "glycemic index". I wouldn't really consider this a fad diet.

Fad diets are characterized by exaggerated claims of significant and quick weight loss and usually by unhealthy means.

I would put south beach diet underneath the "lifestyle change" category as it just encourages eating from healthier sources. It doesn't make exaggerated promises. And there is evidence that it works and is healthy too (something most fad diets aren't).

Actually, out of all the "diets" out there, this one is probably among the best. But really for weight loss, it all comes down to burning more calories than you consume. Although it is still important to get the right kind of nutrition from those calories, which is why diets like south beach are good.

How long do i have to use the south beach diet (phase 2) to lose about 30 pounds?

My mom used it for 7 months and only lost 6 pounds… she obviously quit. She ate their breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it never worked. She now uses Nutrisystem and has lost 27 pounds in 6 months. I recomend Nutrisystem… hope this helps and God bless!

My freind and I were talking today and I told her that I really dont like meat all that much, I made the joke that if I could do a "reverse adkins diet" I would love it, she said she had heard that if you cut the meat out of your diet you could lose weight. Is that true?

I know people hate to hear it, but if you eat right and exercise, you'll lose weight. It's the only real way it's going to work, so just skip all the other.

By eating right, I don't mean cut out everything that's remotely "bad" and hope it works out. Just try to limit the bad, but don't be afraid to eat it every once in a while. Moderation is the key. It's really not that hard.
