I have heard to help lose weight one should do a colon cleanse to get rid of toxins. I just want to know what I can do with out spending lots of money.

I love questions like this. There are hundreds of books out there that say something like "death begins in the colon" and "cleanse the toxins" and other rubbish.

While there is truth to poor diets causing ill health (Americans eat a lot of fat and have a very high incidence of colon cancer), there's a lot of myths too.

Fiber is the key. Instead of looking for miracle cures, adapt a healthy lifestyle. Eat whole-fiber, low fat foods and read labels. (While you're at it, cut down on the salt too). Just reaching the FDA's recommended allowance of fiber daily can be a challenge. (No more fast food!) Also, drink plenty of water. You can't flush out the bad if it's stuck like a rock inside of you. (Constipation hurts). Finally, exercise. Along with all the other health benefits (and burning calories, duh) regular exercise will promote peristalsis (the regular movement of stuff through your insides).

Seriously though, it takes some work to keep yourself healthy. Keep at it. And please stay away from people who are going to shove stuff where it doesn't belong and "flush you out". That's really not good for you. Also, stay away from laxatives unless your doctor suggests it. They can have very bad side effects.

Just eat right and exercise.

Footnote: Enemas and Go-Lytly are not good! You can severely imbalance your sodium and postassium levels! (read: heart failure) Don't stick things up there unless a doctor (a real doctor) tells you to!

I took 4 capsules this a.m. of an organic colon cleanse. I'm trying to lose weight. How long before this stuff kicks in?

did you stop eating? Take a few a day and you will notice a difference within a day or so. ITs not going to make you have diahreah (SP) it will just aide to the health of your colon/

Motivation!

And that's the difficult bit to maintain :)
I started by cutting out soda (there is SO much sugar in soda) and adding Crystal Light to water, I used to hate water. These days I can drink it on it's own.

I've been using extrapounds.com to help me with the motivation part of my diet. Once you get used to the changes they seem natural. Now I can't stand soda! lol

To those who have actually tried a diet/energy/appetite suppressant product: Which ones have worked for you and how?

Please don’t answer unless you’ve actually tried something.

I was on Adipex(appetite suppressant) It worked really well, I sometimes would forget to eat I was just NOT hungry. The only side effect was that I was really jittery, and if your don’t drink a lot of water you get dry mouth, and heart palipitations. Other than that, I lost almost 15lbs in one month, and I have managed to keep it off.

i just posted about atkins ..and cos i love fruits im reallu wondering if il be good at it .
im 68 kilos. anfd 5'3.
AND I have twin boys 15 m/o to mother ..lol but i just need to loose the weight … !!! i need some good diet plan ….!!

Keep it simple!
90% of you daily diet should be fruts, veggies, wholegrains and water.

The other 10% should be dairy products and poultry.

You still need to exercise until you break a sweat. After each work out, drink a protein shake immediately or at least 3o minutes after your workout!

goodluck!:)

Loose 15 pounds in 1 month, without a diet plan that costs money.

It is possible, however, it's going to require that you have a high iron intake, as well as low fat with low calories, and if you are taking in high carbs, you need to be working out a lot. Drink plenty of water, and probably eat more vegetables than anything else. Oatmeal and lots of fibrous foods are very good for losing weight. Make sure you do lots of cardio, maybe a half hour per day.

Someone told me there’s no point buying diet coke you may aswell buy the nicer full sugar normal coke because diet coke is even more fattening.

Is this true?

don’t drink either! regular coke is bad for you because it is LOADED with high fructose corn syrup… diet coke is even worse because it has aspartame (artificial sweetener) which we do not have the enzymes to break down. drink water

that you can use keeping on the low carb low fat diet? I have heard low-carb diets make your mouth taste dry and awful!

make sure your drinking plenty of water and try a tounge scraper.

I have a freind comming for dinner.
I'm vegetarian and she is on a low fat low carb low sugar diet.
I have no idea about how to feed her.

I have some chicken in the freezer she could have and i have tofu that i can have, So we could have that with vegetables.

What flavourings can i use? Herbs and spices and garlic should be OK right? What about soy sauce? i guess most other sauces are out, which ones can i use?

Can you suggest a low carb/fat/sugar recipe for the chicken?

Which vegtables are high carb?

thanks for your help!

dueling diets – one of the tough cooking challenges.

cauliflower, broccoli, eggplant, zucchini, and many more on the link.

Soy sauce is fine as are most seasonings. Just don't use sugar. There's plenty of room for you two to meet in good healthy natural foods. For sauces, look at the label and stick to things that only have a few carbs per serving.

The classic low carb high protein meal is a big fresh salad with grilled chicken on top.
